Polyurethane rubberising kit designed for professional bed liners, floors and equipment. This 2-part system includes Resin 25kg + ISO 28kg for a durable, non-slip, chemical-resistant finish.

Description

Polyurethane rubberising kit designed for professional bed liners, floors and equipment. This 2-part system includes Resin 25kg and ISO 28kg for a durable, non-slip, chemical-resistant finish. If you’re looking for a reliable coating that handles abrasion, impact and spills in real-world conditions, this polyurethane rubberising kit is engineered for predictable results when you follow the mix ratio and application guidance.

What’s in the kit

– Component A – RESIN: 25 kg (white drum)
– Component B – ISO: 28 kg (black drum)
The two components react to form a tough polyurethane film that bonds to correctly prepared substrates. Because this is a professional 2K system, it offers better hardness, tear strength and service life than single-pack alternatives.

Key benefits

– Hard-wearing protection against abrasion, impacts, oils and common automotive chemicals.
– Non-slip texture for safer loading areas and work zones.
– Wide application range: bakkie bed liners, trailers, toolboxes, workshop and warehouse floors, machinery housings and more.
– Professional 2K chemistry for consistent cure and film build.
– Local expertise and support from Gauteng Mobile Rubberising.

Typical performance & coverage (guideline)

– System type: 2-part polyurethane coating (A+B).
– Recommended film build: 600–1500 μm total (1–3 passes depending on duty).
– Coverage (guide): ~0.7–1.2 m²/kg at target build and texture. Substrate profile and spray technique will influence results.
– Pot life: typically 20–40 minutes at 20–25 °C; higher temperatures shorten pot life.
– Recoat window: usually within 2–4 hours tack-free; always consult the TDS for exact intervals.

Polyurethane rubberising kit: what’s inside

The polyurethane rubberising kit combines a high-solids resin with a reactive isocyanate hardener. When mixed to the specified ratio by weight, the system cures to a flexible yet tough membrane that resists chipping and gouging. This balance of hardness and resilience is what makes a polyurethane rubberising kit ideal for load beds and floor areas that experience point impacts, vibration and frequent cleaning.

Surface preparation

Great results start with prep:
1. Clean and degrease thoroughly (no silicone residues).
2. Abrade to a uniform profile; remove rust and loose coatings.
3. For bare steel or aluminium, prime with a compatible etch/epoxy anti-corrosive primer for best adhesion and corrosion resistance.
4. Mask off adjacent panels to control overspray and edge build.

How to mix & apply the polyurethane rubberising kit
1. Confirm the RESIN : ISO mixing ratio from the technical data sheet.
2. Weigh both components accurately. Mix until uniform; observe the stated induction time if required.
3. Application methods:
– Spray (recommended): airless or pressure-feed gun with the correct tip and pressure.
– Roller: acceptable for small areas and touch-ups; finish and texture will vary.
4. Apply in multiple passes to reach the target film build. Allow specified flash times between coats.
5. Respect the recoat window. After final pass, allow the membrane to cure before light traffic; wait for full cure before heavy service.

Safety
– Contains isocyanates — use appropriate PPE: organic vapour respirator, gloves, goggles and protective clothing.
– Apply in well-ventilated areas. Avoid skin and eye contact.
– Keep out of reach of children. Dispose of waste according to local regulations.
– Review the Safety Data Sheet (SDS) and Technical Data Sheet (TDS) before use.

FAQs

Can I apply without spray equipment?
Small areas can be rolled, but for the most uniform texture and build we recommend spray application.

What primer should I use on bare steel or aluminium?
A compatible etch or epoxy anti-corrosive primer dramatically improves adhesion and corrosion resistance.

How much area will one kit cover?
Coverage depends on thickness and texture. As a guide, plan for ~0.7–1.2 m² per kg at typical build.

Is the coating UV stable?
The system is designed for exterior durability. For long-term direct UV exposure, a colour or clear topcoat can be advised.
